Winter 2016
Winter always arrives as a surprise. After the January thaw, a blizzard arrived on February 9th. We got about a foot of heavy, wet snow. There were almost gale force winds. School was closed for two days. Of course, my husband was away on business which had me praying that the power would stay on (it did). It was strange because the day before the blizzard it was 60 degrees and sunny!
Ten days later, the temperatures went back up to the mid 50's. The snow melted enough to allow this hellebore to reappear from underneath the snow.
What a severe yet master artist old Winter is....
No longer the canvas and the pigments, but the marble and the chisel.
