Whites Revisited
There is just something about white flowers that make me love them! They are like the sherbet between dinner courses that freshens the palette for the next delicious taste. White flowered shrubs can draw your eye to the far reaches of the landscape or punctuate a too busy flowerbed. White is especially effective when used in shade or part shade. In full sun, white tends to look faded and a bit tired. White can sparkle in more sun when it's early morning or in the springtime light. Small white flowers draw you in for another look.
It is good to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
